She never even saw him……until it was too late.
With one hand on the cell phone, and her other on the steering
wheel, it only took slight pressure on the accelerator to
send the _ ton Chevy truck hurtling through the red light.
The front of the truck smashed deeply and directly into Tom's
left leg. The impact sent the twisted motorcycle skidding
away, leaving Tom and his ten-year old son, Jake, lying on
the asphalt in pools of blood.

Code red alert put out by Blood Bank of Alaska

One aspect of disaster recovery that is crucial is the blood
supply. If there isn't enough blood, people are more likely
to die in a major disaster.
The disasters around the nation have pointed to the blood
shortage here at home. Now the Blood Bank of Alaska is declaring
code red.

Critical Shortage - Urging ALL blood types to respond!
The Blood Bank of Alaska is struggling to keep up with the
blood needs over the past few weeks due to low donations and
extensive usage. Local inventory levels have dropped well
below a safe and adequate supply on a number of blood types.
Please call 907-222-5630 to schedule your appointment or visit
your
nearest blood center
or mobile blood drive as soon possible. Appointments preferred.
Walk-ins welcome as time permits.
