AN ORGANIZED STRUCTURE ENSURES A SUCCESSFUL
BLOOD DRIVE
It is important that all responsibilities are covered. This is best
handled by forming a committee! Listed below is a sample structure
in forming a committee. Depending on the size of the committee,
some individuals may fulfill numerous roles & responsibilities.
FACULTY ADVISER
This individual should assist in obtaining administrative approval
for all aspects of the campaign, should be present at all program
committee meetings if possible and assist in recruiting faculty
and staff members to donate.
EXECUTIVE CHAIRPERSON
This individual is responsible for coordinating the entire program
and working directly with a Blood Bank of Alaska Community Coordinator.
PUBLICITY CHAIRPERSON
This individual must prepare a creative and motivating publicity
campaign. The goal is to educate and have fun at the same time!
RECRUITMENT CHAIRPERSON
This individual must organize a personal-contact recruitment campaign
to recruit blood donors!
VOLUNTEER CHAIRPERSON
This individual will select the appropriate volunteers to assist
at the blood drive!
RECOGNITION CHAIRPERSON
This individual is responsible for thanking both the donors and
volunteers. May include donor gifts, a listing of all donors in
a public place, thank you notes, or other school recognition!
• Start signing up and distributing parental consent forms
& remind them to have filled out and returned ASAP.
• Begin active one-on-one recruitment.
