Thousands of would-be pirates join forces for a good cause at the tenth Annual Pirate Pub Crawl.
The Anchorage Pirate Pub Crawl, one of the biggest events of the year in downtown Anchorage with an estimated 3,000 in attendance, is on September 21st. Get your Arrgh on! More than just a day to celebrate your inner scallywag, the new Pirate Cove during the day and the Anchorage Pirate Pub Crawl at night, puts a theatrical and piratical twist on fundraising for Blood Bank of Alaska.
Not only is this for a good cause, but one lucky winner during the pub crawl will come away with the treasured 80,000 air miles on Alaska Airlines. Get your pirate map and stamp it at each participating bar for a chance to win.
- New this year is our Pirate Cove, open to all ages from 2pm to 7pm. Enjoy picture opportunities and fun pirate games.
- The Pirate Pub Crawl kicks off at 7 p.m. and goes until 1 a.m.
Co-founder Kevin Hall says, “Over the 9 years we have been honored to raise over $116,000 for the Blood Bank of Alaska and have saved lives by doing that. We are amazed at the community.” Huffington Post ranked the event among the “7 U.S. Pub Crawls You Will Never Forget (No Matter How Much You Drink)” Posted in 2014 and re-posted in 2017.
The Pirate pub crawl portion of the event begins with the always popular group photo in Town Square at 7pm and participants receive their map for the night. Everyone who collects all 12 pub stamps and enters their completed map at any of the participating bars, will have a chance to win 80,000 Alaska Airlines miles.

You never know when yourself or a family member will need the gift of life. And it is the one time of year you can give back in pirate gear. You are truly making a difference for patients by participating in this event.”
Participating bars are: 49th State Brewing Co., The Avenue Bar, Humpy’s Great Alaskan Ale House, Fletchers, Whales Tail, McGinley’s Irish Pub, Pioneer Bar, Slippery Salmon Bar & Grill, Sullivan’s Steak House, Williwaw, and Gaslight Lounge. You can buy your Pirate t-shirt at any of the bars, in Town Square Park and at the Pirates Cove behind Humpy’s. Don’t be late or you’ll be keel-hauled!
