- Unrestricted Donation – this type of donation can be for any dollar amount and is not designated to any specific service.
- Restricted Donation – this type of donation is designated for a specific service or program.
- Dedicated Donation – this type of donation can be either restricted or unrestricted, it is made in honor of someone. (For example: birthday, anniversary, or in memoriam)

Blood Bank of Alaska provides many programs for blood donors to show appreciation for their service.
